The purpose of this Blog

This blog is to detail my 50 years (1973 - 2023) with a 1928 Chevrolet tourer, affectionately called "The Red Chev".

The acquisition, restoration, improvements and my experiences over the years are covered in as much detail as I can remember.

Some of the later postings include car club outings and other vintage car items that I hope will be of interest to people.

If you have the time, scroll back to where it all began in 1973 and follow the journey so far.

Thanks for dropping by.

Regards Ray Dean

Still pulling them out of barns (after 62 years)

Found this on facebook, from the states

1928 chevy roadster convertible untouched stored in barn ,hasn't moved for 62 years, was parked in the barn by original owner in 1952 [clutch trouble] with 51,131 miles on it,pulled the car out yestrday[march 26/15] due to barn collapsing, I loved this car since I first saw it 41 years ago but hate to see it sit outside now so letting it go to good home, great for hot rod ,rat rod, awsome patina, what you see in pics is what there is except for few more pieces that i didn't want falling off trailer, pretty good shape for over 85 years old, trunk lid was rough but basically flat tin curved over wood frame-not stamped metal -easy to fabricate[old trunk lid was off and crushed by collapsing stone foundation behind car],wood wheels solid, perfect honeycomb rad, still has fabric on seat back, where do you see them like this anymore ?,rolling on 4 wheels,steers,$2800.will sell this week or part out after that as I have 2 ppl wanting major parts off it........at least it dosn't get crushed......by the barn !.....also 25 chev truck outside[cab rotted away]no pics yet-still in snow drift in the bush.... in Brandon Mb.204-761-0672 cash only, bring trailer
