The purpose of this Blog

This blog is to detail my 50 years (1973 - 2023) with a 1928 Chevrolet tourer, affectionately called "The Red Chev".

The acquisition, restoration, improvements and my experiences over the years are covered in as much detail as I can remember.

Some of the later postings include car club outings and other vintage car items that I hope will be of interest to people.

If you have the time, scroll back to where it all began in 1973 and follow the journey so far.

Thanks for dropping by.

Regards Ray Dean

Day 35 - 28 Chev Ute Restoration (17th August 2015)

Fitted the replacement front cross member tonight.... 2 down 2 to go.

All contact or hidden areas were hit with a coat of epoxy etch primer and full gloss top coat

All button heads are facing underneath the chassis with the exception of  three on each side of the engine bay. These will be painted black with the rest of the chassis.

Looking pretty good, with no corrosion from either rust or radiator leakage

Hopefully I will get the remaining 2 cross members changed over by the weekend.

Then the fun starts!!!
