The purpose of this Blog

This blog is to detail my 50 years (1973 - 2023) with a 1928 Chevrolet tourer, affectionately called "The Red Chev".

The acquisition, restoration, improvements and my experiences over the years are covered in as much detail as I can remember.

Some of the later postings include car club outings and other vintage car items that I hope will be of interest to people.

If you have the time, scroll back to where it all began in 1973 and follow the journey so far.

Thanks for dropping by.

Regards Ray Dean

1928 Chev for sale in Gippsland (found this on Gumtree)

Sellers description

1928 Chevrolet tourer fully restored 6 years ago and is in excellent condition.

Strong motor fully rebuilt, new clutch, good white wall tyres. Brakes good. no rust.

Some spares available.

Runs fantastic and fun to drive.

Used as a wedding car and at show and shines.

reason for selling cleaning out shed with too many projects and sorry to see it go.

Consider a 50,s car of same value

Asking price $16,500 negotiable

Roof looks well used, and the home made upholstery lets it down a bit in my opinion.

12 volt conversion. Disconnected Vac tank, inlet manifold upside down, with what looks like a Holden Carby.
